5 Chocolatey Homemade Treats for Kids

Kids love chocolate, and what better way to satisfy their sweet cravings than with homemade treats? Whether for a special occasion or just a fun baking session, these five chocolatey recipes are easy to make and guaranteed to bring smiles to little faces.

1. Chocolate Rice Krispies Treats

A crunchy, chewy, and chocolatey delight that’s perfect for kids of all ages.

Ingredients

  • 200 g milk chocolate, melted
  • 100 g marshmallows
  • 50 g unsalted butter
  • 150 g Rice Krispies cereal

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and marshmallows, stirring until smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and mix in the melted chocolate.
  3. Add Rice Krispies and stir until fully coated.
  4. Transfer to a lined baking tray and press down evenly. Let it set in the fridge for 1 hour before cutting into squares.

2. Chocolate Banana Muffins

A healthy twist on chocolate treats, these muffins are moist and full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 200 g plain flour
  • 50 g cocoa powder
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1 egg
  • 50 ml vegetable oil
  • 100 g chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C and line a muffin tray.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, whisk bananas, milk, egg, and oil.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, then fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Divide the batter into muffin cases and bake for 18–20 minutes.

3. Chocolate Dipped Fruit Pops

A fun and healthy treat with a chocolatey twist.

Ingredients

  • 200 g dark or milk chocolate, melted
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • 10 strawberries
  • 1 apple, cut into chunks
  • Sprinkles or crushed nuts (optional)
  • Wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Skewer the fruits onto sticks for easy dipping.
  2. Dip each fruit into the melted chocolate and place on a parchment-lined tray.
  3. Add sprinkles or crushed nuts before the chocolate hardens.
  4. Chill in the fridge for 15 minutes until set.

4. Chocolate No-Bake Cookies

These cookies require no oven and are ready in minutes!

Ingredients

  • 100 g butter
  • 200 g sugar
  • 30 g cocoa powder
  • 100 ml milk
  • 250 g oats
  • 100 g peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and milk until combined.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in oats, peanut butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a lined tray.
  4. Let them cool for 30 minutes before serving.

5. Chocolate Marshmallow Fudge

A rich and creamy chocolate treat that melts in your mouth.

Ingredients

  • 300 g dark or milk chocolate, chopped
  • 200 g condensed milk
  • 30 g butter
  • 100 g mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate, butter, and condensed milk, stirring until smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and fold in marshmallows.
  3. Pour the mixture into a lined baking dish and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  4. Cut into small squares and serve.
