Wraps are versatile, delicious, and portable, making them an ideal choice for a quick and satisfying meal on the go. Whether you’re packing a lunch for work, preparing a picnic spread, or simply craving a flavorful bite, learning how to make a wrap is a valuable culinary skill. In this guide, we’ll take you through the steps to create a delicious and customizable wrap that will leave your taste buds wanting more.

Ingredients:

For the Wrap:

  • Large tortilla or flatbread (flour, whole wheat, or spinach)
  • Protein (grilled chicken, turkey, beef, tofu, or falafel)
  • Fresh vegetables (lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, onions, avocado)
  • Cheese (cheddar, Swiss, feta, mozzarella)
  • Condiments and spreads (mayonnaise, mustard, hummus, pesto, tzatziki)
  • Optional extras (olives, pickles, roasted vegetables, bacon, nuts)

Instructions:

Prepare Your Ingredients:

    • Wash and chop your vegetables into bite-sized pieces.
    • Cook or grill your protein of choice until fully cooked and tender.
    • If using cheese, slice or shred it according to your preference.
    • Lay out all your ingredients on a clean work surface for easy assembly.

    Warm the Tortilla:

      • If desired, warm the tortilla or flatbread briefly in a skillet or microwave to make it more pliable and easier to roll.

      Layer Your Fillings:

        • Start by spreading a thin layer of your chosen condiment or spread across the center of the tortilla, leaving a border around the edges.
        • Add your protein of choice on top of the spread, followed by your desired combination of fresh vegetables.
        • Sprinkle cheese evenly over the vegetables, if using.

        Fold and Roll:

          • To fold the wrap, start by folding the bottom edge of the tortilla up over the fillings, tucking it tightly underneath.
          • Next, fold the sides of the tortilla in towards the center, enclosing the fillings and creating a rectangular shape.
          • Continue rolling the wrap away from you until the entire tortilla is tightly wrapped around the fillings.
          • If desired, you can secure the wrap by wrapping it in parchment paper or aluminum foil for easier handling.

          Slice and Serve:

            • Using a sharp knife, carefully slice the wrap in half diagonally to create two triangular halves.
