Belgica Caramel Tart Cake is a decadent dessert that combines the rich flavors of caramel with the buttery goodness of a tart crust. This indulgent treat is perfect for special occasions or as a delightful pick-me-up any day of the week. Let’s dive into the recipe and discover how to create this heavenly delight in your own kitchen.

Ingredients:
For the Tart Crust:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons cold water

For the Caramel Filling:

  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a tart pan with removable bottom.
  2. To prepare the tart crust, in a food processor, combine the flour, cold cubed butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add the egg yolk and cold water to the mixture and pulse until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix.
  4. Press the dough into the greased tart pan, ensuring an even layer across the bottom and up the sides. Use a fork to prick the bottom of the crust.
  5. Bake the tart crust in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
  6. While the crust is cooling, prepare the caramel filling. In a saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, heavy cream, unsalted butter, and a pinch of salt.
  7. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture thickens into a smooth caramel sauce. This should take about 10-15 minutes.
  8. Once the caramel filling is ready, pour it into the cooled tart crust, spreading it evenly.
  9. Place the tart in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours, or until the caramel is set.
  10. Before serving, you can optionally decorate the tart with a sprinkle of sea salt or a drizzle of melted chocolate for an extra touch of indulgence.
  11. Slice the Belgica Caramel Tart Cake into wedges and serve chilled. Enjoy the creamy caramel goodness with every bite!

The Belgica Caramel Tart Cake is a delightful fusion of buttery crust and silky caramel filling that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more. With its simple yet indulgent recipe, it’s the perfect dessert to impress guests or satisfy your sweet tooth. Give this recipe a try and treat yourself to a slice of heaven!
