The iconic Shine Studios was a brew of excitement, anticipation, cheers, and celebration for Carling Black Label consumers and friends of the brand, who braced the cold weather to experience a one-of-a-kind Champions Day event that kicks off their awarded everywhere, enjoyed anywhere campaign. The campaign aims to celebrate Carling Black Label’s quality taste and hero our champion fans celebrating over 50 awards for the champion beer. At the end of the day quality beer is a catalyst for quality moments.

The premium event drew on Carling Black Label’s award-winning liquid credentials by giving guests an experiential journey that was created through sensory touchpoints. This is against the backdrop of the brand celebrating its 52nd award going after winning Gold at the Australian International Beer Awards keeping it as the most-awarded beer in

Africa.

Carling Black Label’s Brand Manager Nonjabulo Ndwandwe said the night was fitting as the brand could celebrate the latest achievement with their heartbeat, the consumers.

“In celebration of the award, the campaign we are kicking off symbolises that we are awarded everywhere and enjoyed anywhere. What we are saying to that is that yes, Carling Black Label has been awarded everywhere and it is a brand that can be enjoyed anywhere even in new spaces or places which you would not think.

Ndwandwe added: “Carling Black Label is a brand that believes that as an individual and as a collective, if you put in the effort and get the achievement, you deserve all the reward and we are saying cheers to you, our champion fans.

Carling Black Label consumers who were in attendance got to share the award-winning beer with their favourite media personalities while dancing to the sounds of acclaimed deejay JazziQ.

Television actor and friend of the brand Zamani Mbatha celebrated the beer’s award by saying: “I like how we think that we know Carling Black Label but there is so much to the brand than what meets the eye when you see the can or the bottle of the beer. More than anything as a person who is in the public eye the awards, they have won are inspirational and make one want to do more. Congratulations to the brand, this is truly amazing.”

Sportscaster and television star Andile Ncube kept guests on their feet as the MC. Ncube said the night was evidence of the great work the brand continues to do with its consumers.

“I have been working with Carling Black Label for years now and everything that they have ever done is amazing the way they communicate with people that they call friends of the brand has always been fun and it speaks volumes of how the brand is being consumed and it shows that they understand their consumers because people consume it and love it. It is a great marriage between what people want and what they can give and it shows in today’s event as well.  To get the actual team in the same space with the actual consumers of whatever your favourite brand is and you get to interact with them one on one that is big.”

A big part of the night was the special taste games to test the guests’ liquid knowledge. The game results came out as a tie between socialite Brown Mbombo and actor Thembinkosi Mthembu.

Mbombo said: “I am happy because my team won. It was such a good season for us to be honest and they deserved it. The highlight for me is winning the game, I was representing ladies and we won! I know my champion beer.

Part of the night proceedings included a viewing of the Final match between The Citizens, Manchester City, and Internazionale, Inter Milan, While Manchester City FC fans brought the house down with victory dances over the historic championship win, Internazionale fans were comforted with music from amapiano hit sensation Toss and Soweto Finest while enjoying the internationally acclaimed golden liquid.

Unlike any match viewing experience, Carling Black Label gave their consumers a VIP seat next to their favourite sports stars including Happy Jele, and Kagiso Rabada, and media personalities such as Khanya Mkangisa, Zamani Mbatha, Thembinkosi Mthembu, the event was also graced by biggest names in lifestyle, sports, and entertainment media and musicians NaakmusiQ.

Celebrated musician and friend of the brand, Toss said: “Everything went well today. I enjoyed watching my favourite sport which is soccer. The treatment is good and the drinks have been flowing. To me, it is a milestone to be associated with Carling Black Label because we grew up watching our elders drinking Carling black label so to be here today and be celebrated by the brand is way up and it shows that I am doing something great.”
