A Caesar salad is a classic, but when you add a touch of spice and some hearty chicken, it turns into a meal that’s both satisfying and full of flavor. This Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad Bowl is perfect for a quick lunch, a light dinner, or even a crowd-pleasing side dish. Here’s how to make it just right.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Caesar Salad Dressing:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon anchovy paste (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Salad:

  • 1 large head of Romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 cup croutons (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/4 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
  • Cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Marinate and Cook the Chicken

  1. Start by marinating the chicken. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, smoked paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are well coated.
  3. Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator. If you have more time, allow it to marinate for up to 2 hours for a deeper flavor.
  4. Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Grill the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks. The internal temperature should reach 75°C (165°F).
  6. Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice it into strips or cubes.

Step 2: Prepare the Caesar Dressing

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and anchovy paste (if using).
  2. Season the dressing with salt and pepper to taste. You can also add a pinch of cayenne pepper for extra heat if desired.
  3. Mix well until all ingredients are combined and the dressing is smooth. Set aside.

Step 3: Assemble the Salad

  1. In a large salad bowl, add the chopped Romaine lettuce.
  2. Drizzle a few tablespoons of the Caesar dressing over the lettuce and toss until the lettuce is lightly coated.
  3. Add the grilled chicken on top of the lettuce.
  4. Sprinkle the croutons, shaved Parmesan cheese, and any optional toppings (like sliced avocado or cherry tomatoes) over the salad.
  5. Drizzle more dressing on top, depending on your preference.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy

  1. Serve the Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad in individual bowls or on a large platter for sharing.
  2. Garnish with a few extra shavings of Parmesan and a sprinkle of black pepper.
  3. Enjoy immediately while the chicken is warm and the lettuce is crisp.

This Spicy Chicken Caesar Salad Bowl brings a new twist to a traditional dish, combining the zesty flavors of the Caesar dressing with the smoky, spicy chicken. It’s perfect for those who love a bit of heat in their meals but still want something light and refreshing. Bon appétit!
