A steak and avocado quesadilla wrap is a mouthwatering combination that brings together tender beef, creamy avocado, and melted cheese, all wrapped in a warm tortilla. It’s the perfect dish for a quick lunch or dinner that doesn’t compromise on flavor. Here’s how you can make the perfect steak and avo quesadilla wrap at home.

Ingredients

For the quesadilla wrap, you will need:

For the Steak:

  • 200g beef steak (sirloin or ribeye works great)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Quesadilla:

  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced or mashed
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup cooked black beans (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • 1 tbsp sour cream (optional)
  • 1 tbsp salsa (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Season and Cook the Steak

  1. Prepare the steak: Start by seasoning your steak with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  2. Cook the steak: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare (adjust the time according to your desired doneness). Once done, remove it from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes. Slice the steak into thin strips.

Step 2: Prepare the Avocado and Other Fillings

  1. While the steak is resting, slice or mash the avocado in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt and pepper for extra flavor.
  2. Slice the red onion thinly, and if you’re using black beans, have them ready.

Step 3: Build the Quesadilla Wrap

  1. Assemble the quesadilla: Take one tortilla and sprinkle half of the shredded cheese on top. Arrange the steak slices evenly over the cheese, followed by the avocado slices or mash. Add a few red onion slices, black beans (if using), and fresh cilantro.
  2. Top with cheese: Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the fillings, and then place the second tortilla over the top.

Step 4: Cook the Quesadilla

  1. Cook the quesadilla: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the assembled quesadilla in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Press down gently with a spatula while cooking to help the quesadilla stick together.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

  1. Slice and serve: Once the quesadilla is cooked, transfer it to a cutting board and let it cool for a minute. Cut it into wedges and serve with a side of sour cream, salsa, or guacamole for extra flavor.

Tips for the Perfect Steak & Avo Quesadilla Wrap

  • Rest the steak: Letting the steak rest after cooking ensures that the juices redistribute throughout the meat, keeping it tender and flavorful.
  • Use ripe avocado: For the best creamy texture, make sure your avocado is perfectly ripe but not too mushy.
  • Add crunch: For extra texture, you can add some fresh veggies like bell peppers or even a handful of arugula before closing the quesadilla.
  • Cheese matters: The cheese is what holds the quesadilla together, so be generous! A blend of cheeses like cheddar and mozzarella can give you both flavor and meltability.

This steak and avo quesadilla wrap is an easy yet satisfying meal, combining savory steak, creamy avocado, and melted cheese into a crispy, gooey package. Perfect for any time of day, this wrap is sure to become a household favorite! Enjoy it with your favorite sides and sauces, and get creative by adding your own personal twists.
