  3. Soak the Bread: Dip each slice of bread into the custard mixture, ensuring both sides are evenly coated. Allow the bread to soak for about 20-30 seconds on each side, but be careful not to let it become too soggy.
  4. Fry the French Toast: Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or coat with cooking spray. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your skillet.
