Delicious King Prawns Recipe for a Quick and Flavourful Meal

King prawns are a seafood favourite thanks to their juicy texture and subtly sweet flavour. This quick and easy recipe enhances their natural taste with garlic, chilli, lemon, and white wine for a dish that’s perfect for a speedy dinner or an elegant starter.

Ingredients

  • 500 g raw king prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • ½ fresh red chilli, finely chopped (or ½ teaspoon red chilli flakes)
  • 60 ml dry white wine
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Handful of fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the prawns by patting them dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the chopped garlic and chilli, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, but not browned.
  3. Add the prawns to the pan in a single layer. Cook for 2 minutes on one side until they start to turn pink.
  4. Flip the prawns, then pour in the white wine. Let it simmer for 1–2 minutes to reduce slightly.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook until the prawns are fully pink and opaque but still tender—about 2 more minutes.
  6. Remove from heat, squeeze over the lemon juice, and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  7. Serve immediately with crusty bread, over pasta, or with rice and grilled vegetables.

This king prawns recipe is ready in under 15 minutes and delivers bold, fresh flavours with simple ingredients. Ideal for both weeknight meals and entertaining, it’s a must-try for any seafood lover.
