Sparletta brought a vibrant burst of flavour and excitement to Umlazi by teaming up once again with the beloved SABC 1 drama Uzalo, turning an ordinary month-end shopping trip at Mega City Mall into a memorable celebration.
Building on the success of last year’s partnership, Uzalo stars Thuthuka Mthembu, Simphiwe Majozi, Nompilo Maphumulo, Nkanyiso Makhanya, Masoja Msiza, and Lindah Majola took on undercover roles as cashiers at Boxer and Spar. Disguised with wigs, hats, and glasses, the actors stunned shoppers as they revealed their true identities at the tills.
In a fun twist, customers who reached the checkout without a Sparletta were met with a cheeky “void” alert, prompting a surprise visit from a celebrity who handed them a refreshing Sparletta. Shoppers who already had Sparletta in their carts were rewarded with meal vouchers—reinforcing the message that meals are just better when paired with the taste of home.
The activation extended beyond the tills with a lively in-mall experience. Shoppers sampled Sparletta’s range of flavours, played games for shopping vouchers, and got a chance to meet their favourite Uzalo stars face-to-face.
