Chocolate chip cookies are a beloved treat that brings back fond memories of childhood and comfort. The combination of buttery dough and melty chocolate chips creates a delightful texture and flavor. In this article, we will share a tried-and-true recipe for classic chocolate chip cookies that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth and leave you wanting more.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven and Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat to prevent sticking.
  2. Cream the Butter and Sugars:
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. You can use an electric mixer or mix by hand using a wooden spoon.
  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla:
Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next. Then, mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing to prevent tough cookies.
  5. Add Chocolate Chips:
Gently fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough. You can use milk, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate chips based on your preference.
  6. Scoop and Shape the Dough:
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, portion the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each cookie for spreading. You can shape the dough slightly with your hands or the back of a spoon.
  7. Bake to Perfection:
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown. The center may appear slightly undercooked but will firm up as the cookies cool.
  8. Cool and Enjoy:
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. As they cool, the cookies will develop a deliciously chewy texture. Enjoy them warm or store them in an airtight container for later indulgence.

With this classic chocolate chip cookie recipe, you can recreate the timeless joy of biting into a freshly baked cookie with melty chocolate chips. The simple yet delicious combination of ingredients and easy-to-follow steps ensure that you can make perfect chocolate chip cookies every time. So, gather your ingredients, preheat your oven, and embark on a baking adventure that will fill your home with the irresistible aroma of homemade goodness.
