Breakfast got a serious glow-up this week as Kellogg’s South Africa unveiled its Power Breakfast Café, a limited-edition pop-up transforming Menlyn Mall into a multi-sensory playground for food lovers from 11–14 December.
Designed as a café-style experience, the activation invites shoppers to step into a world where breakfast goes far beyond the bowl. Think the comforting aroma of warm chocolate and freshly brewed coffee, bursts of colour from fruit-forward creations, and beautifully styled, cereal-infused pastries that sparkle under soft lighting. Every detail is curated to celebrate the joy, creativity and flavour potential of the Kellogg’s range.

From the moment guests enter, the space delivers on indulgence and inspiration — blending taste, texture, sound and visual storytelling. Signature Power Breakfast dishes anchor the experience, showcasing how everyday cereals can be transformed into both nourishing and indulgent morning moments.
Adding to the buzz, Kellogg’s partnered with Jacaranda FM’s Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp, who broadcast live from the café during a special Outside Broadcast. The JAC Feel Good Squad joined in, sampling inventive breakfast plates and sharing the vibrant energy of the pop-up with listeners across Gauteng.
As breakfast habits evolve, South Africans are increasingly looking for meals that feel exciting, flexible and balanced — and the Power Breakfast Café taps straight into this shift. The pop-up demonstrates how breakfast can fuel not only the body, but creativity and confidence too.
Food personality Neo Nontso brought the experience to life as MC, guiding guests through each sensory zone. Influencers including Bheki Ndamase, George Mnguni, Sibu Mpanza and TikTok star Gloria Ngcobo (fresh off surpassing one million followers) rolled up their sleeves to create their own Power Breakfast dishes. Guests also explored an immersive ASMR sound zone designed to inspire calm, focus and mindful enjoyment.

Speaking on the concept, Tamsin Darroch, Marketing Director for Kellogg’s South Africa, shared:
“Breakfast is no longer just about convenience — it’s about creativity, balance and quality. People are exploring new ways to build their meals, and the Power Breakfast Café celebrates just how versatile and exciting breakfast can be. From nourishing favourites to playful indulgences, we wanted to showcase the full spectrum of how South Africans enjoy Kellogg’s today.”
The Kellogg’s Power Breakfast Café is open to the public from 12–14 December at Menlyn Mall, offering food lovers a limited-time chance to experience breakfast reimagined — deliciously, creatively and with all the senses engaged.
