Liqui-Fruit, South Africa’s beloved homegrown fruit juice brand, brought flavour, freshness and nostalgia to the forefront this past weekend as it partnered with Mayonie Open Air to celebrate 50 years of groove at the Evolution of Afrohouse festival. Held against the iconic backdrop of Constitution Hill, the event marked Liqui-Fruit’s first major festival partnership in its milestone anniversary year — and it was nothing short of vibrant.

The collaboration was a natural fit. Both Liqui-Fruit and Mayonie Open Air are deeply rooted in authenticity, cultural pride and the celebration of African creativity. As Afrohouse rhythms pulsed through the historic venue, festivalgoers soaked in a sensory experience where music, fashion and culture seamlessly blended — all elevated by the unmistakable taste of Liqui-Fruit.

With Mayonie Open Air’s longstanding mission to spotlight African talent and Liqui-Fruit’s five-decade legacy of refreshing Mzansi’s summer moments, the partnership created a space where heritage met modern flair. Guests were treated to immersive brand experiences, including the Liqui-Fruit Chill Zone, where classic flavours that generations have grown up loving were sampled alongside the refreshing Liqui-Fruit Sparkling range.

“This was the perfect stage to celebrate the heritage of Liqui-Fruit in a way that honours its legacy as a trailblazing, pioneering brand, while connecting with a new generation of creators and vibe-setters,” said Tshepang Sekgororwana, Assistant Brand Manager for Liqui-Fruit. “Mayonie Open Air allowed us to elevate the festival experience while celebrating our 50-year journey alongside the evolution of Afrohouse — a genre that continues to shape culture.”

But this was only the beginning. As Liqui-Fruit marks 50 years of refreshing South African summers, the brand is gearing up for a Dezemba filled with bold, unexpected experiences nationwide. From high-impact pop-up activations to immersive outdoor celebrations, Liqui-Fruit promises a season bursting with vibrant flavour and feel-good moments that turn the everyday into something extraordinary.
